David T. Smith Chief Operating Officer
David Smith oversees the strategic and business plans for Ageless Remedies Franchising Company, and also manages the company’s brand development where he designs and executes the company’s marketing strategy as well as the support systems for the franchisees.
David comes to Ageless Remedies with fifteen years of broad-based experience in franchise, retail, service and consulting environments. He has extensive franchise management experience, both as a franchisor and franchisee. Most recently David helped to build the Heavenly Ham franchise system, a category-leading specialty foods retailer and catering company. As Senior Director of Franchise Operations, David helped lead the growth of the system to more than 200 units while achieving historically high sales growth and unit profitability. He served in various roles with the fast-growing franchise company, including field support and project management positions, where he designed and executed the company's training programs, communication plans, new product development, and sales growth initiatives. Upon the acquisition of the brand by the Honeybaked Ham Company in 2002, David successfully integrated the two brands while managing a near $100 million P&L. David also led the implementation of the company’s new award-winning Market Café concept, resulting in average sales growth per unit of more than 30%.
David has been active in the International Franchise Association where he as served as a facilitator at annual conventions. His thoughts on franchise training and web based communication systems have been published in Franchising World Magazine. He has a bachelors degree in Finance from Georgia Southern University, is a graduate of and former instructor for the Leader Shape Academy in Champaign, Illinois, and a graduate of the HBH Accelerated Development Program for rising executives.
Jennifer Curtin Founder, Co-President
Jennifer Curtin is Co-President and Co-Founder of Ageless Remedies Franchising Company. Ageless Remedies is a leader in providing state-of-the-art treatments and skincare services on a national scale, and are recognized for excellence in quality and customer service. Jennifer manages all important vendor partnerships for Ageless Remedies, which includes our technology partners and our key product vendors. Jennifer also ensures that our franchisees have the support, training and resources necessary to succeed with the Ageless Remedies brand.
Prior to starting a career in medical aesthetics and cosmetics she received her Bachelor's Degree from the University of Baltimore in business management and marketing. Ms. Curtin is nationally recognized for her expertise in medical skin care. With more than 20 years experience in cosmetics and anti-aging, Ms. Curtin is focused on Ageless Remedies national growth and becoming a dominant leader in the anti-aging sector.
Ms. Curtin is dedicated to the cosmetic industry and has received awards of merit including the International CIDESCO Certification and National Leadership Award. She has worked as a consultant and presented seminars on anti-aging, marketing and overall management development for medical spas. Her broad background in sales, marketing, and business management has served in multiple positions with large cosmetic companies, physicians, and skin care facilities. In 1999, Ms. Curtin and Ms. Herrmann founded one of the first Medical Spas in Atlanta, called Skin Solutions. Ms. Curtin is actively involved with many charitable foundations in Atlanta.
Maureen Herrmann Founder, Co-President
Maureen Herrmann is Co-President and Co-Founder of Ageless Remedies Franchising Company. Ageless Remedies is a leader in providing state-of-the-art treatments and skincare services on a national scale, and are recognized for excellence in quality and customer service. Maureen Herrmann leads the development of the Ageless Remedies concept, from store deign to product and service offerings. Ms. Herrmann is focused on leading Ageless Remedies to achieve improved growth in revenue and profitability of franchised centers: offering support, the best total customer experience and helping franchisees to succeed in the medical skincare sector.
Prior to founding Ageless Remedies, Ms. Herrmann spent a total of nearly 20 years in the anti-aging and cosmetic fields. Representing mega-brands such as La Prairie, Borghese Cosmetics and several other national cosmetic companies, she recognized the demand and growth potential of the Beauty Industry. In 1989, many in the skin care industry had not heard the term medical spa or cosmeceutical, much less given it the credibility to convince doctors of the philosophy. But Ms. Herrmann was convinced that this was a market that had great potential for success. They began working and consulting with physicians assisting in opening medical spas prior to founding their own medical spa in Atlanta in 1999, called Skin Solutions. With determination and expertise in understanding trends in America’s obsession to look and feel young, Ms. Herrmann and Ms. Curtin established a successful medical skincare center. Together they spearheaded the planning and implementation of the apothecary concept into the original center that helped to drive the business to its present day success.
Ms. Herrmann is active in many civic and educational organizations and also continues to support charitable foundations in Atlanta.
Michael S. Lassiter Vice President, Real Estate and Development
Mike Lassiter focuses on specific responsibilities, as it relates to Real Estate and Franchise Development. In this role he assists franchisees with the site selection process, while focusing on qualifying franchisee prospects.
Mike’s franchising experience is extensive. He has launched seven new franchise companies and/or franchise related companies and has successful multi-unit management experience spanning almost 25 years. Mike has also been a franchisee, franchisor and area developer. This experience on all sides of the franchise model gives him a perspective that few can claim.
Prior to founding Franchising Concepts, Mike was President of Quality Concepts, Inc, an independent Area Developer for Schlotzsky’s, Inc, a restaurant franchisor. Contracted to Schlotzsky’s, Quality Concepts conducted franchise sales and support, store training and development, as well as market analyses and site selection. Mike was ultimately responsible for developing his territory to 85 units; making Quality Concepts the second largest Area Developer for Schlotzsky’s worldwide. During this time, Mike’s territory grew from less than $1M to approximately $40M in annual revenue, and he was awarded one of the top Area Developers for three sequential years.
Mike was also a Schlotzsky’s franchisee, purchasing one unit and building another; one in need of turnaround management and one new concept deli. These units subsequently were named "Best Deli" in north Atlanta by Creative Loafing Magazine, “Favorite place for a sandwich,” by the Atlanta Business Chronicle, and designated "Top Deli in North Atlanta," for two years by Inside Northside Magazine. Mike served as Regional Manager for Fox Photo Labs in a five state territory, where he was responsible for overall P&L, customer service, field support, site selection, inventory control, recruitment and quality assurance.
Mike also has extensive experience in commercial real estate and is a partner in real estate investment firms. On numerous occasions he has been a guest lecturer at Kennesaw State University. He completed a BBA in Management from Sam Houston State University and MBA studies at Mercer University. He is an active member of the 1% Club.
Dr. Mark Beaty, MD National Medical Coordinator
Dr. Mark Beaty serves as the Ageless Remedies National Medical Coordinator. In this role he helps design the Ageless Remedies protocols for many of our procedures. He also coaches and consults our staff in the introduction of new procedures offered at our locations. He is also a resource available to our medical directors for consultation and support.
Dr. Beaty is board-certified by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, the world’s largest certifying body for facial plastic surgeons. He holds a second board certification from the American Board of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery. Following undergraduate school at the University of North Carolina, Dr. Beaty began his medical training at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine where he graduated with highest honors and received the D. Kay Clawson award for outstanding academic and leadership contributions to the institution. He then received residency training at the University of Iowa Department of Otolaryngology, widely recognized as the leading program in the country.
Following residency, Dr. Beaty completed fellowship training in Facial Plastic Surgery at Emory-affiliated Buckhead Facial Plastic Surgery. During this fellowship, covering all aspects of cosmetic facial surgery, Dr. Beaty authored two journal articles and served as clinical instructor in facial plastic surgery to Emory University residents. Dr. Beaty received the Sir Harold Delf Gilles award from the American Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery for his research evaluating the effects of various rhinoplasty techniques on nasal architecture.
